The Fairbanks Story is our flagship downtown walking tour. Over approximately 90 minutes, your guide will lead a small group through downtown while connecting the places you see with the people and history that made Fairbanks what it is today.

We cap our public tours at 12 guests to keep the experience personal and conversational.

How much does it cost?

General admission is $59. Alaskan residents receive a $49 resident rate. Youth ages 6-17 are $29 each and must be accompanied by an adult. Children 5 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult.

Where does the tour start?

The tour starts at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center at 9am and 11am daily through the summer season.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Fairbanks conditions can change quickly.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Tours are designed to operate in typical Fairbanks summer conditions. We will communicate any weather-related changes directly to guests.

Is the tour accessible?

We are designing the route with accessibility in mind and will provide specific route information before launch.

Can I book a private tour?

Yes. Please contact us directly for booking tours at non-standard times or for large groups.

Public bookings will open well ahead of the Summer 2027 season.
